About me
Welcome to my site
My name is Paul J. Pycroft. I am a Microsoft System Specialist, Linux enthusiast, and perpetual tinkerer of most I.T. systems. Live in Cardiff, love swimming, photography, motorcycling, and DIY, if time allows.
In I.T. I offer expertise in the Server environment, desktop PC / laptop, networking, scripting as well as web development. Whether it’s a business or personal need I’m quite happy to discuss your options face to face or or email.
Employment
I am currently employed in a large local Govt organisation as an Senior IT Consultant, and spend most of my time on operations and the back-end system. The system consists of running a farm of servers of different configuration / platform (including virtual) i.e. Microsoft Windows Servers (up to latest spec), Linux/Unix, with Azure, Veeam, NetApp, Citrix, VMware, Cloud data storage and backup of large corporate systems.
Education
I have attended various Microsoft and Unix training (include online) courses for high end Server environments as well as for personal computer use. I have a M.Sc. in Parallel Computer Systems and an B.Sc. (Hons) in Information Technology. Also extensive experience in Electronic & Communication Engineering. - Using photography as a vehicle for telling your story, I combine stunning visual images to something unique and to your taste.
Prices vary but start from £75 for up to 2 hours for a basic photo-shoot session inside or outdoors (weather permitting) or in a Studio near to your home area (addition cost). You will then receive up to 50 unedited digital images (approx.) via email or to download from my secure website (watermarked). You will then be able to choose up to 10 edited favourite images in either very high quality colour, black & white.
All images will be of a high resolution. Bespoke albums, frame(s) or other items such as mugs, calendar, etc. can be ordered at an addition cost. If you have query, please click contact me.

I am a member of the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers and am undergoing mentoring for qualification with the Society of Photographers. Many of my skills are drawn from my time as a portrait & nature photographer – a discipline requiring many of the same professional skills necessary for event, commercial, portrait and wedding photography. I have got Public Liability Insurance cover and photographic equipment are PAT tested.

I also offer Graphic Design
I can offer a bespoke graphic design service for personal requirement or a small independents companies, a fast streamlined and cost effective solution to any design requirements. Graphic design include consist of identity (logos and branding), publications (magazines, newspapers and books), print advertisements, posters, billboards, website graphics and elements, signs and product packaging. For example, a product package might include a logo or other artwork, organized text and pure design elements such as images, shapes and color which unify the piece. Composition is one of the most important features of graphic design, especially when using pre-existing materials or diverse elements.
